Suggestion List for Christmas Shopping in South Korea

When skimming the Korea Herald newspaper, I found a suggestion list for Christmas shopping in South Korea. I feel it gives some insight into the commercialization of Christmas in South Korea.

Here are some of the ideas…
Smell majestic: Let him feel your caress even if you are not near him with Millesime Imperial, a luxurious perfume from House of Creed. Available in four sizes from 30ml for 132,000 won at Galleria Department Store.

Silky Christmas: Hermes silk twill scarf is every woman's must-have item and just in time for the Christmas, the fashion house introduces Noel au 24 Faubourg, a Christmas-themed edition. As the French house declares, it is "a beautiful flying carpet" that will make her heart flutter.

Drink in style: Dehydration is a problem that affects many city slickers - don't let it get your loved ones this holiday season! The light and handy water bottles offered by Swiss company Sigg are perfect for adults and children alike. They come in a variety of colors and sizes and are made from the company's cool, featherweight aluminum material! Prices range from 19,400 won for 0.3 liter bottles to 35,000 won for a 0.6 liter bottle with design.

Sting in town: Take your special someone to see Sting perform live in the first great concert event of 2005. The soulful, British rocker will appear twice at the Olympic Gymnastic Stadium on Jan. 28-29 during the Asian leg of his "Sacred Love Tour." In his first Korean appearance in almost a decade, Sting will indulge fans with of his most popular hits from his 20-year solo career.

Snuggling up: There's nothing like the warm and cozy touch of a goose down comforter to make you feel extra-special when catching some shut-eye. This Christmas, you can slip between some exclusive, lavish sheets every night. Hyundai Bedding supplies some of Seoul's top hotels like the Hyatt. A set including a goose-down comforter and matching white cotton cover is 500,000 won, with prices for duck down comforters starting at lower prices (home deliveries available). It's the perfect thing for a little holiday merry-making in bed! Call Hyundai Chimjang

At his cuffs: If you want to get something from Tiffany & Co. for Christmas, give him a hint by giving him one yourself. It has just introduced a range of cuff links from the New Atlas Collection that uses Roman numerals as a main motif.

Urban cowgirl: Boots are all the rage this season and Celine's Gardiane boots flaunt cowboy flair with effortless French chic for a city girl. These boots with low stacked heel offers comfort and are available in camel, brown and baby pink suede at selected department stores. Price: 600,000 won.
