On May 20, 2005, Hyundai Motor will celebrate the grand opening of its first American manufacturing facility. The Montgomery plant will manufacture the popular mid sized Sonata and Santa Fe SUV.
The $1.1 billion dollar plant is but one aspect of Hyundai's plan to further their North American operations. Along with corporate operations in Orange County California for Hyundai and Kia, the auto group has made major investments in design and R&D. (See photo) This investment has been also been highlighted in national advertising showing the new facilities.
