Pantech T Slide

Pantech, originally uploaded by dsoutherton.

In Korea, Pantech & Curitel has introduced two “T-slide” , so called because the handset takes on a T-shape when the bottom slider is fully stretched with the vertical display rotated at a 90-degree angle.

The company says the models combine slide and horizontal display phone features popular among the young, allowing users to take and edit photos vertically or horizontally and watch multimedia content on a horizontal display.

The models have a subway navigation function, which provides information on the shortest route and exits if users input their departure and destination and can transform text into voice messages. They also have an electronic dictionary and mobile banking service. The phones will hit the market late this month or early next month priced at about $500.
